Our Lord Jesus calls God’s house “a house of prayer.” (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46) Prayer is not an optional activity of the Church, but part of her very life. At Holy Trinity Lutz, we believe prayer flows from God’s grace and is sustained by His promises.
Prayer is a gift God gives His Church. Through prayer, God invites His people to bring every concern, great or small, before Him in faith, trusting that He hears and answers according to His good and gracious will.
We are honored to pray with you and for you, and to carry your concerns before the Lord.
Scripture teaches that prayer is powerful, not because of our words or strength, but because of God’s faithfulness.
From a Confessional Lutheran perspective, prayer is not a way to earn God’s favor or bend Him to our will. Rather, prayer is the faithful response of God’s children who trust His promises. We pray because God has first spoken to us in His Word and has invited us to call upon Him in every need.
Prayer rests not in our sincerity, but in Christ, who intercedes for us, who has reconciled us to the Father, and who promises that our prayers are heard for His sake.
If you have a prayer request, we would be honored to pray for you and those you care about.
Prayer requests for the congregational prayer list should be sent to:
htlutzoffice@verizon.net
(This email is monitored by the church administrator during office hours.)
To help us pray clearly and faithfully, please include:
Name of the person, family, or group being prayed for
Category (Health Concerns, Grief and Loss, Life Transitions, etc.)
Brief description of the request (description of the prayer request and background)
Duration (e.g., “this week,” “through February,” “ongoing”)
Permission to share this request with the congregation
Optional
Out of love and respect for those who entrust us with their concerns, our congregational prayer list is private and shared only within the Holy Trinity Lutz family. This helps preserve confidentiality while allowing the congregation to pray faithfully for one another.
Prayer requests are shared for the purpose of prayer, not as detailed updates or explanations. Sensitive or personal information is best shared directly with the pastor.
All prayer requests are treated with reverence and care. They are prayed over faithfully at Holy Trinity Lutz, trusting that the Lord who invites us to pray is the same Lord who hears and answers.
